【摘要】:ThepurposeoftheAEexaminationistoanalyzehowanexaminationobjectiswithstandingtheappliedload,orifitissufferingfromsomelatentdamage.Consequentlytheemissionactivitymustbeevaluatedinrelationtotheappliedload.Theappliedload(ontheexaminationobject)mayincludemechanicalforces(tension,compressionortorsional),internalpressureandthermalgradients.Itmaybeshorttolong,randomorcyclic.Theappliedloadmaybecontrolledbytheexaminerormayalreadyexistaspartoftheprocess.IneithercasetheappliedloadismeasuredalongwiththeAEactivity.Possibleapplicationsincludethedeterminationofpartintegrity,qualitycontrolassessmentofproductionprocessesonasampledor100%inspectionbasis,in-processexaminationduringaperiodofappliedloadofafabricationprocess(forexample,spotwelding,bonding,soldering,pressing,etc.),proof-testingafterfabrication,monitoringax201C;regionofinterestx201D;(orconcern)ofastructure(forexample,bridgejointorrepair,vessel,pipe),andrex2013;examinationafterintervalsofservice.1.1Thisguidecoverstechniquesforconductingacousticemission(AE)examinationsofsmallparts.Itisconfinedtoexaminationobjects(ordefinedregionsoflargerobjects)wherethereislowAEsignalattenuationthroughouttheexaminationregion.Thiseliminatestheconsiderationofcomplexattenuationfactorcorrectionsandmultiplesensorandarrayplacementsbasedonovercomingsignallossesoverdistances.1.2TheguideassumesatypicalAEexaminationasonewherethereisacontrolledormeasuredstressactinguponthepartbeingmonitoredbyAE.Particularemphasisisplacedonsensorandsystemselection,sensorplacements,stressingconsiderations,noisereduction/rejectiontechniques,spatialfiltering,locationdetermination,useofguardsensors,collectionofAEdata,AEdataanalysisandreport.ThepurposeoftheAEexaminationistoanalyzehowanobjectunderevaluationiswithstandingtheappliedload.1.3Possibleapplicationsofthisguideincludesmaterialscharacterization,qualitycontrolofproductionprocesses,prooftestingafterfabrication,evaluatingregionsofinterestoflargerstructuresandretestingafterintervalsofservice.Theappliedloadmayincludemechanicalforces(tension,compressionortorsional)internalpressureandthermalgradients.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
