【摘要】:ThisDraftforDevelopmentgivesrecommendationsandguidanceontheconstructionanduseofbuildingstomaximizefiresafetyincludingtheprovisionoffireprecautionsandmeansofescape.Itisapplicabletonewbuildingsandalsotoexistingbuildings,especiallywhenalterationstothestructureofanexistingbuildingortoitsusearebeingconsidered,andcoverstheentirelifecycleofabuilding.NOTE1WhenthisDraftforDevelopmentispublishedasaBritishStandarditwillalsoincorporatetherecommendationsandguidanceonaccessandfacilitiesforfire-fightingandfiresafetymanagement,currentlygiveninBS5588-5andBS5588-12respectively.TherecommendationsandguidancegiveninthisDraftforDevelopmentaretosafeguardthelivesofbuildingoccupantsandfire-fighters.However,someoftherecommendationsandguidancearealsoofrelevancetotheprotectionofproperty,theenvironmentandbusiness/serviceviability.ThisDraftforDevelopmentdoesnotcoverfiresafetyengineering.NOTE2GuidanceandrecommendationsonfiresafetyengineeringaregiveninBS7974.
