【摘要】:Thispracticedefinesaprocedurethatensuresreasonablyconsistentpreparationofspecimensforproducttestingandevaluation.Thispracticecanbeusedinthelaboratoriesofproducers,users,andgeneralinterestpartiesforresearchanddevelopmentorqualitycontrolwork.Itisparticularlyusefulforinterlaboratorycomparisonsonproducts,forrepetitiveevaluationsorcomparisonsofproductsorproductquality,andinspecifyingauniformpreparationpracticeforspecimensforacceptancetesting.Ifpitchimpregnatedsamplesarepreparedbywetcuttingordrilling,careshouldbetakenindryingthem.Ifthesamplesareheatedtofacilitatedrying,thetemperaturetowhichtheyareheatedshouldnotbesohighthatitcausesdrainageofpitchfromthesamples.Porositiesofmetal-containingbrickmustbemeasuredusingkeroseneormineralspiritsbecauseusingwaterwillresultinanartificiallylowresult.1.1Thispracticecoversaprocedureforpreparingtestspecimensfrommagnesia-carbonandimpregnatedburnedbasicbrick.Thispracticegenerallyconcernspreparationoftestspecimensfrombrickgreaterthan13in.(33cm)inlength.Thesebrickaremainlymanufacturedforuseinelectricarcfurnacesandbasicoxygenfurnaces.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
